Want to strengthen your mind and body? Through positive thoughts come positive change, both mentally and physically. For over 10 years, I have been active in the fitness field through first competing in Fitness, Body Building and Power Lifting, followed by certications in Personal Training, Body Pump, Spinning, and Yoga. I used to teach high school mathematics for 6 years and then after having two children, my usual 3 days-a-week cardio was not delivering the changes I expected. I hired a personal trainer and was instantly inspired. She helped me find a positive mental and physical lifestyle change through education, dedication and desire. That lifestyle change evolved into and sustained my love of teaching through Personal Training and Group Fitness instruction. I have worked with power lifters, body builders, women, teens, seniors, pre and post natal, Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia individuals and more. My passion for fitness and nutrition started 12 years ago as a tall, skinny 20 year old. Not knowing how to sculpt the body I wanted, I joined a gym and hired a personal trainer. I quickly learned what kind of exercises I needed to do to achieve my goals. I studied nutrition and learned to make meal plans for myself that provided my body with the fuel I needed to become healthier and help me reach my goal weight. I made a conscious choice to choose a healthy lifestyle and leave behind habits that didn’t benefit me or my family. After years of working in retail and sales, I finally made the decision to pursue the job I was passionate about, and my dedication shows results in the people I train. As your personal trainer, I will listen to your exercise and nutrition struggles and goals, and use this information to help lead you to a new lifestyle that will make you stronger, healthier, and happier. I strongly believe that no one element will bring you the results you want, so I will guide you through a combination of resistance training, cardio workouts, meal planning, and general healthy-living choices to bring you a well-rounded personalized plan. I love challenging my clients to work at and beyond their perceived ability level, showing them that with the proper guidance and their own hard work, they can achieve any goal they set for themselves.

My goal as your personal trainer is to help educate, motivate, and inspire you to reach all your health and fitness goals. I know from personal experience that there can be many different challenges that occur in one’s life that may hinder successful results. I had to put my fitness journey on hold when I had a full knee reconstructive surgery. Being an athlete, this was very discouraging news for me. However, with the support of my family and friends I bounced back and reached my goal of attaining a full ride scholarship for basketball. Through my experience playing division 1 basketball, I realized the importance of the role of the coach. Sometimes you just need someone there for guidance, support and to hold you accountable. Allow me to be your coach and I will strive to help you surpass any obstacles that are preventing you from reaching your fitness goals. Let me find the inner athlete in you!

I have been a member at TAC – Lakeland for about 4 years. I am very passionate about fitness and nutrition and I feel it is my purpose in life to help others find their way as I have found mine. I was actually 320 lbs at the age of 16. I was able to lose over 100 pounds and keep it off! Fitness has helped me overcome so many obstacles in my life and has given me the confidence I needed to take my life to the next level in every aspect (mentally, physically, spiritually, socially) and I would love to help you do the same. My style of training is a client-centered approach to coaching, by that I mean providing you with a safe space to clearly define your goals and expectations while giving you the coaching and support you need along the way. As far back as I can remember, I have always been interested in sports. It didn’t really matter what activity it was, if it was sports related I enjoyed it. I knew then that physical activity was a passion. My interest in fitness took a little longer to develop. In high school I discovered the local gym and navigated through workouts by trial and error alone. As a skinny kid, I wish I would have known then what I know now, not only for safety but to see the results I dreamed about. Once I joined the Navy and moved away from Colorado, my understanding and knowledge of fitness expanded. I was fortunate enough to return to school after my service to follow my passion into personal training. My education afforded me the opportunity to gain a more intricate understanding of cardio exercise, weight training and functional fitness. This understanding has become tools to help me reach personal goals in my physical fitness. I became a trainer because I truly am passionate about helping others reach their fitness and personal goals.
